Maxwell Alderton
Hove (“actually”) seafront is essentially Brighton without the hordes of seasonal tourists, making it perfect for a lesser-populated summer amble or beach barbecue with friends, as well as a bracing winter walkies with one’s four-legged best friend. That’s where you’ll find Maxwell Alderton most days, with his miniature poodle Pip. That is, when they're not hard at work at Peter Christian HQ, in the surprisingly industrious village of Partridge Green in West Sussex.

Representing the second generation at the family firm, Max heads the constantly evolving marketing department, with the current prime objective of nurturing the burgeoning business in the United States, which seems a thousand miles from rural West Sussex (3,466 miles to be precise).
I've never had a style icon, but I've definitely had friends and people who have influenced my style...

Having grown up in the area, it's fair to say Max broadened his horizons before returning to Sussex to settle into his career, having lived in both Brazil and Thailand. Describing his style as casual with a splash of formal, he's partial to an NYC thrift shop to find unique and characterful pieces to add to his wardrobe. Taking sartorial influences from friends and family (understandably) rather than specific style icons, Max enthuses over his newest love: “I've got really into drawstrings trousers of late… I'm a massive drawstring trouser aficionado!”.

Here Max wears a 100% British wool navy shawl cardigan over a blue Viyella wool and cotton shirt to keep out the coastal chills whilst remaining sharp (Pip won't stand for sloppy dressing). Extra warmth and smart-casual steering are provided by a Vedoneire plain white T-shirt. Max has chosen a sand corduroy variant from his cherished drawstring trousers armoury, with a favourite Peter Christian cap that is no longer available (apologies if it caught your eye. You could always make Max an offer via postcard to PC HQ).

Little bit overpriced
It’s been bitterly cold outside and I have been well wrapped up ; warm as toast in my British woollen shawl cardigan. Thanks.
I purchased both the navy and oat colors, finding them to be exceptionally versatile. The quality and fit are impeccable. These are indeed proper cardigans.
Beautifully knitted Cardigan with great detailing. The wool is soft to the touch and is constructed to last over many many winters. Overall this Cardigan is a must have over Autumn and Winter.
Great quality and it’s made in GB!
Very comfortable with exactly the right amount of stretch. True to size and excellent quality, well worth the money.
I like it! Purchased for cool weather and lounging around the house .Fits the purpose superbly even though my wife hates it and thinks it makes me look too old.
Supremely comfortable and excellent fit, very pleased.
Really good quality cardigan ,good price, 2nd to no other stuff and made in England,,what're can you ask for, 😀
Better than I expected
A lovely warm product, and above all it fits, which is by no means guaranteed for me. It’s a classic design and now represents one of my favourite items of clothing. It’s telling that my wife is casting envious glances at it, and even the cat likes sleeping on it.
Fabulous quality and great value for a 100% Wool cardigan.

A perfect Christmas gift to the man who deserves it the most-me.
Good fit and good quality
Outstanding quality trousers, ideal for any occasion, that style, and attention to detail for the discerning individual.
First class
I bought this for my husband for his birthday; he'd found it online and liked the style. I thought it was more expensive than we'd usually spend, but that we could send it back if it wasn't worth the money. We haven't; it is really well-made, a great style and fit and he says it's super warm. He can wear it when he's working from home and it's smart enough to look good over a shirt for all those Zoom calls!
I'm not sure I could buy these in New Zealand, in any case it's easier to go with a retailer that I know and trust.
Absolutely beautiful fabric and finish
