Third time to but two pairs as I really like the product. Still wearing the previous pairs, albeit one pair for outside work. I ordered a moss green pair which on arrival proved to be brown; not a problem as I like the shade but would still like the moss green I had previously. My order was recevied very promptly and although both pairs of trousers were slightly creased by the packing, having hung them in the airing cupboard for two days, the creasing has gone. The quality is very good and comparable with corduroy trousers I have purchased from other retailers. On the assumtion that they will wear well, it is probable that I will purchase another pair. For £50, these are wonderful value. Superb corduroy fabric and very well tailored and finished, with taped seams and loads of nice details which you might expect on trousers costing twice as much or more. I bought them for long evening meetings in draughty, cold village halls, and they are the business. Superb product, well tailored, delivered to the Channel Islands in double quick time - without the express delivery option! The only reasons that this is not a five star review is because i) the waist doesn't appear to be adjustable (although it's fine using a belt) ii) the metal clip fastening isn't terribly well attached to the trousers and could come off if the trousers become tight. I've always as an adult had 29 inch length trousers from many sources over the years which fit me well. But these Peter Christian ones, and a pair of their excellent cavalry twill trousers of 29" are both 2 inches too long. The leg measures 29" but hangs 2" lower when worn. Because I had worn them,albeit just once, they couldn't exchange them, but I was able to return them at their expense, when they were shortened by them by 2" and returned to me promptly at no cost to myself. No real problem with quality or fit but since I'm not suffering from any obvious bodily known deformity, standards sizes fit me pretty well. Decent thickness unlike a lot of the other stuff around. Only quibble would be colour description - one of my pairs was supposed to be "Moss Green" . Well, they sure don't look like the colour of the stuff that is growing on my lawn - more like a brown shade most of the time except when under some types of artifical light. I ordered a pair of these trousers for scuffing around the house and studio as they weren't too expensive. But when they arrived my wife told me they were too good for that so I'm still stuck for a pair of everyday warm winter trousers - should have ordered two pairs! I was invited to review my purchase of two pairs of trousers. This is a little difficult because thay have not yet arrived and the order was placed over week ago. It could be argued that this due to the weather but I would have to say that I also ordered some clothes from John Norris on the same day and they arrived within two days. I am not sure which delivery service you use, John Norris uses a private courier service and I think you may use Royal Mail that could be your problem. I will be happy to review my purchase when the goods eventually arrive. I have avoided cord trousers for years as all I have tried looked at have been coarse to the touch and have fitted badly. The processing of my order and the timing of the delivery was excellent. However I ordered one pair in the Toffee colur and one pair in the Moss Green. When the arrived the pair that I took to be the Moss Green looked a darker shade of the Toffee colour.
I rang and spoke to a lady in your office who knew the problem immediately; clearly its happened before, the Moss Green as shown in the catalogue and on the website is nothing liked the actual colour.
